I have 40 rose bushes and most of them have LOTS of thorns, large and small. This is a little stiff but it works well and does the job its supposed to. It takes only the thorns off and does not damage the rose stems. I usually need to strip the stem at least 2-3 times to get most of the thorns off. I love that it comes in a three pack so I can keep them in different places for quick de-thorning.

This little wonder works great. There are "pimples" on each side, and you just hold the rose in your gloved hand, place the stripper around the stem just below where you want the thorns and foliage removed, and pull down. It protects your hand from getting pricked on the thorns, and if you do it over a trash can, there's no mess. I've used the other kind of strippers before that are more like giant tweezers, but they mangle the stem and the rose doesn't last as long in the vase. Plus, you get three of these in the package, so you can give one away if you like.

It takes a little getting used to as the plastic molds to your hand a little. When you first open the pack, the rose strippers are a little stiff and a little hard to work with.
I used these to strip the thorns on my wedding flowers and they were so easy to use! I probably did over 1,000 roses - no problem.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with the shipment or order, everything arrived as expected. However, these proved to be completely useless in stripping thorns from roses. They were also very thick and hard to bend even after bending back and forth to loosen them up.

I had a huge order for my DIY wedding flowers and used these for 3 stems total. On the third stem, the plastic glided the thorn smoothly without removing it and I cut myself. I recommend ditching these and simply hand-stripping with heavy duty rose gloves, which is what I did.

They make cute soap holders though.

Do wear gloves while stripping stems or you may get ripped.
